Although Caoimhe Savage’s graduation collection was inspired by a visit to London’s Imperial War Museum, collecting elements from uniforms of different cultures - Japanese, German and British -, the result looks anything but militant. She layered an abundant mix of exaggerated proportions and recognisable yet experimental shapes in bright, preppy colours and materials including gingham and bold stripes, waxed cotton and corduroy. Her large, layered shapes and multiple utility belts do however suggest a need for protection; the over-sized hats represent the fact that Caoimhe Savage wanted to hide the character's identity.
