ChungIn No (South Korea)
Central Saint Martins, London, Fashion Print BA 2017
Title of graduation collection: BLIND CHILDREN
Intrigued by the different ways in which visually impaired children use their vivid and strong imagination to understand colour and shapes, Chungin No set out to visualise this inspiration in pattern designs.
“I experimented with different digital printing techniques and sprayed colour on my fabrics to create the effect of blurriness and make the patterns and colours become opaque.”
Although Chungin No is very literate in digital printing technology and its particular aesthetics, she is very much a person of the sensory world where she can interact with people, using eye contact, smelling their scent and by physical contact - such as hugging when someone feels sad. “Then I feel alive in this world.”
