Liam O’Sullivan’s collection focuses on the everyday and mundane, failures and rejections, drawing on his personal experiences growing up on the outskirts of London, in Romford and Dagenham. He researched the visual language that he personally relates to based on his background and current experience living in London. The combination of these disparate elements with everyday garments makes the collection wearable on a base level, however the textiles provide a catalyst for a second look. The designer used found materials and elevated them by manipulating them into complex and layered textiles, such as coffee stirrers knitted into fabrics, and gaffer tape used as both details and as a method of garment construction.
