Inspired by industrial manufacturing practices in the automotive industry Timothy Bouyez-Forge built garments that evoke the bond between our body and the machine. These garments hold a narrative towards future modes of travel and escape. They are synthetic idealistic travel solutions. “Really it is about repurposing mass production systems to create new materials and forms.” His aim is to bring together art, design skills and technology, with unusual neo crafts and contemporary innovations in womenswear. For example, he spray-paints with parts of motorbike fairings as moulds and forms these new materials into garments. This approach results in a unique design narrative, including futurist notes of lo-fi luxury into clothing.
